Fieldwork opportunities are both abundant and varied in this part of north east Yorkshire. The east coast with sites such as Flamborough Head and Filey Brigg is ideal for studies of rocky shore ecosystems and geomorphology; whilst heather moorlands, woodlands and streams abound in the nearby North York Moors National Park. In addition the Yorkshire Wolds with chalk streams, dew ponds, rolling downs, dry valleys and intensive agriculture provide many more opportunities.

Using a blend of outdoor activities, problem solving tasks, and discussion sessions, our courses provide an opportunity for the development of personal, social and teamwork skills.
The courses are tailored to the requirements of the party, whether they be company teams, schools or groups of friends.
Our Outdoor Explorer course also forms the basis for our very successful Duke of Edinburgh gold residential courses. These are held during the summer months. To find out when they are being held visit the News and Views page or contact the Administrator at admin@cranedale.com
